Topshop has bagged one of the world’s biggest models for its SS16 campaign. Yep, Karlie Kloss is its new face in a series of shots by Tyrone Lebon, styled by the retailer’s creative director, Kate Phelan. The campaign will feature in stores, advertising, online and social media worldwide.
It’s eight years since Kloss first modelled for Topshop and in that time she’s become a modelling phenomenon (as has the model she appeared with back then – Jourdan Dunn).
Let’s face it, when you appear in four episodes of Gossip Girl as yourself, when you’ve been the face of just about every brand that counts, when you’ve appeared on every glossy cover that counts, when you get to star in BFF Taylor Swift’s video, have nearly 4m followers on Instagram, and are in the Forbes top 10 for top-earning models, then I think qualify as a genuine modelling megastar.
In this campaign she’s blending slightly sexy with commercially wearable – enough to appeal to a mass fashion audience while also offering up some key pieces for diehard fashion fans.
