On the Grammys red carpet it wasn’t so much a case of lining up behind which celeb you wanted to win but which colour corner you felt drawn to. The red carpet channelled current colour trends with the clashing brights and degradé effects that we’re seeing on the current AW16 runways, as well as the intense blacks that designers are also loving.
Shine was also key – from slippery satins to allover sequins and everything in-between.
There was also a big trend for flashing the flesh (although perhaps not as much as at previous Grammys). But given that this is the music industry and making an impact is de rigueur, it’s hardly surprising that thigh slashes, deep Vs and midriffs were big news on the night.
At least Adele kept it under control – I always feel there’s a lot to be said for a killer dress that covers more than it reveals. At least you don’t have to worry about wardrobe malfunctions.
