There’s a new feeling for volume in the pre-fall 16 collections. It’s not the dominant trend, but it’s there, it’s in lots of collections and it can’t be ignored.

Think wide, gathered tops and dresses, trapeze line coats (often worn with more body-conscious pieces underneath), and wide, slouchy pants. Also key are full-cut maxi dresses (for both occasionwear and more relaxed vacation dressing), wide-cut jackets and the most commercial example of the trend – baggy knits.

These knits can be teamed with skinny jeans or, for a more directional feel, slouchy skirts and soft boots. They come in fine gauges or cosy, chunky cables to act as outerwear replacements.
