Karlie Kloss has landed yet another campaign for SS16. This time it’s shoe specialist Kurt Geiger in a campaign named Everything But The Dress that may have a can’t-miss-it sports theme but it’s pushing shoes (and bags) that aren’t necessarily particularly sporty.
Shot by Erik Torstensson, the company said the mood of the collection is “energetic sports-luxe, where fashion pumps iron to powerful effect”.
In fact the sports theme is less serious and more fun and I think it works. It’s certainly not boring.
Creative director Rebecca Farrar-Hockley put it like this: “Fashion sneakers and backpacks have become wardrobe staples, but this season breaks down boundaries between sport and fashion even further.”
The pieces starring in the campaign are all about flexible materials, sport sandal hybrids, sneakers in soft snake-cut leathers and frilly flatforms.
“The campaign is about fashion designed for real life,” Farrar-Hockley added.
