Prada takes detour for SS16 campaign

You can always rely on Prada to do something different every season and its ad campaigns are a good example of this.

The company has moved away from the powerful silhouettes and clear, clean colours of its very product-focused AW15 campaign. This time the look is more laidback with the product feeling as though it’s almost secondary to the overall impact of the images.

It was shot by Steven Meisel and stars models Sasha Pivovarova, Natalia Vodianova, plus newcomer Yasmin Wijnaldum.

Speaking as a diehard Prada fan, frankly the campaign feels somewhat underwhelming. But then I wasn’t bowled over by the collection either (apart from some of the shoes).

Oh well, there’s always AW15 to fall back on – those pieces should start showing up on eBay or Vestiaire Collective any day now…
