Bye-bye Natasha Poly, hello Raquel Zimmerman. Yes the Brazilian model has taken over from Poly as the face of Isabel Marant’s ad campaign for SS16.
The differences don’t end there either. Although the brand is continuing its tendency to focus on silhouette and not necessarily care about promoting commercial looks, the feel here is quite different from before.
Zimmerman presents a less gawky, even elegant and polished, and certainly much more accessible, face to the world than the last two seasons with Poly.
The images are by Inez & Vinoodh and focus on Marant’s usual mix of multi-ethnic influences and high-end streetwear. They also make the most of colour play, deftly contrasting black with shades of blue and violet (achieved both through the use of coloured separates and coloured light). And there’s one that’s all about shine and metallics – let’s face it, for SS16 we just can’t escape metallics.

It’s refreshing to see a model who is genuinely beautiful, she really does wear this brand very well.
