Marni, pre-summer 16
It’s official, Marni’s now fully owned by Renzo Rosso’s OTB group. The company founded by Consuelo Castiglioni and her husband Gianni is now being run by Staff International’s Ubaldo Minelli, although the Castiglionis remain creative director and president. Staff is OTB’s manufacturing unit.
“Marni represents a fundamental pillar of our group,” said Rosso, adding that it has “incredible potential for further development.”
That development has already started. Last year – when it was 20 years old – Marni had turnover of €130m and that has increased this year with double-digit growth. The company has ramped up its men’s offer, inked an eyewear deal with Marchon and expanded kidswear too, as well as opening flagship stores. Expect more expansion news in the months ahead.
