It seems you can’t be taken seriously as a hip-hop artists these days without having a signature clothing and accessories line – or at least a collaboration. So who’s the latest to dip his/her toe in the water? Rapper Future.
To round off a year in which one of the most influential ‘designers’ in the streetwear sector is Kanye West, Future is ending the year with a clothing deal too, via snow and skate headwear brand Neff.
It’s relatively small compared to the Kanye West deal with Adidas (and other streetwear lines such as Sean John going back nearly two decades). But it’s a start.
Neff is launching apparel collaborations with Future’s Freebandz label, including original tribal print T-shirts, sweatshirts and headwear “inspired by Future’s own style”. He’s also starring in a short film about the line. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRf7Y9JjQaM
The products are available online from today, ranging from $30 to $65, at NeffHeadwear.com and Tilly’s. Then from Christmas Day, Tilly’s will be offering fans the chance to win a pair of tickets to Future’s Purple Reign tour and a private meet and great after the show.
Previous Neff collaborations include Snoop Dogg, Deadmau5, Wiz Khalfia, Mac Miller, Kate Upton and Scarlett Johansson.
